Delete your nearbybook account and data
You can request permanent deletion of your nearbybook account (com.nearbybook.app) and the personal data associated with it. You do not need to reinstall the app or sign in to make a request through this website. Deleting the app from your phone does not delete your account.
Request from the app
- Open Profile, then Settings, then Account deletion.
- Read what will be removed and confirm your request.
- Your signed-in request is recorded for processing. Your account is not deleted immediately; we aim to complete deletion within 30 days and confirm completion through your registered contact information where available.
Request from the website or by email
Use the request form on this page on our website, or email contact@nearbybook.bilalkhan.online with the subject “Delete my nearbybook account.” Provide your registered email address or phone number so we can locate your account. If you no longer have access to that address, explain this and provide an address where we can contact you. Never send a password or verification code.
For requests outside an authenticated session, support will verify that you own the account before proceeding. Sending the form is a request, not confirmation that the account has already been deleted. We aim to complete verified requests within 30 days and will contact you if there is a delay or a specific retention obligation.
What is removed
- Your Firebase Authentication account and ability to sign in with it.
- Your profile, including saved name, email, phone number, avatar, and profile location.
- Your owned book listings, seller details and pickup locations, and hosted listing/profile images under our control.
- Your associated conversations, messages, and chat indexes in our databases.
Deletion is permanent once completed. You may lose access to conversations and book arrangements, so settle outstanding exchanges first. Content copied by other users or sent through WhatsApp is outside nearbybook's control.
Limited retention
Support correspondence and a minimal deletion-request record may be kept for up to 90 days after completion to handle follow-up issues, then removed. If a specific legal duty or an active security dispute requires longer retention, we keep only the information needed, restrict its use to that purpose, and explain the reason and period unless the law prevents us from doing so.
